What Is Kinesiology?
Defined as "the science of the body in motion", Kinesiology blends aspects of physiology, exercise, movement mechanics, and psychology. As an integrated science, Kinesiology allows us to observe individual movement patterns and to identify habits that either contribute to, or result from, poor alignment and execution of activities.
Everybody has a story. Every body tells a story. Injuries, illness, trauma, the stresses of daily life… all take their toll on both the structure and the function of the human body. This is a synergistic relationship, and each affects the other.
The principles of Kinesiology enable us to identify and isolate areas of damage and weakness, translating the language of the body into meaningful messages. With focused attention and awareness, we then begin to transform our limitations into strengths, bringing freedom of movement in to our lives.
About
Nia is a personal growth "living system" that works with the natural wisdom and intelligence of the body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Nia supports the Pleasure Principle: If it feels good, keep doing it; if it hurts, stop! The blueprint of Nia is both practical and experiential, and focuses on internal guidance to change and develop awareness.
Process-oriented, Nia empowers students to make their own movement choices by offering them a flexible structure they can personally modify to suit their needs. Nia combines a diverse blend of Eastern and Western movements, concepts and philosophies from the worlds of the healing arts (self-awareness), martial arts (mindfulness), and dance (technique). What makes Nia so innovative is its unlimited adaptability. Not only can people of all kinds participate, but a wide range of therapeutic, wellness, self-growth and educational communities have effectively integrated Nia into their programs.
Nia movement is based on the design and function of the body, what we call, "The Body's Way." With 52 basic moves, Nia movement is multi-dimensional and multi-directional. Drawn from three martial arts, three dance arts, and three healing arts, Nia involves a variety of movement speeds and styles, ranges of motion, and energy dynamics; it utilizes a variety of combinations of patterns, as well as freestyle movement, designed to train your body, mind, emotions, and spirit to stimulate creativity, break movement habits, and reveal your maximum movement potential.

About Essentrics™
Essentrics™ (The Esmonde Technique) is a fitness method that combines eccentric stretching and strengthening, PNF, physiotherapy techniques, ballet, tai chi and many more forms of fitness to help individuals achieve the goal of a toned flexible and balanced body. Created by Miranda Esmonde-White over 20 years ago, her technique has helped Olympic and professional athletes excel and the general population achieve their fitness goals.
Essentrics stretches and strengthens eccentrically every muscle in the body, rebalancing the muscular structure in continuous rotational movements. It incorporates various techniques while systematically working every joint of the body. This is a full-body flexibility technique that works through the muscle chains liberating, relieving from tension and empowering the muscles in the process.
The purpose of this program is to stretch, strengthen and rebalance the full muscular structure leaving you more flexible, and agile. Essentrics prepares the muscles & tendons to both withstand the maximum demands of your sport activities of your daily life, and to rebound injury free from unexpected twists, turns and stresses. And Essentrics is dynamic, stretching in motion, which means you develop flexibility the way your body needs it.
People who follow the Essentrics™ Toning program notice quick and dramatic changes to their legs, thighs, arms, waist, abs, and even in the fat on their backs. The Essentrics™ workout is based on eccentric strengthening which stretches the muscles then strengthens them in the elongated position creating a lean toned body. Essentrics™ is intended to make the waist thinner, the stomach flatter, the legs leaner and the butt toned, leaving the entire body more flexible and agile.
