I have always been interested in sports and movement, and especially intrigued by human form and functional fitness: healthy movement habits for a healthy quality of life, the ability for the body to self-heal, the unlimited potential to improve our physical conditioning and well-being.

As a result of this lifelong interest, I earned my Master's Degree in Human Kinetics, and became a Certified Kinesiologist. My career has included work in various applications: corporate, recreational, academic, and rehabilitative, enriching the lives of others through movement and wellness education.

In 1994 I experienced a sudden and serious health crisis that had a significant impact on my ability to be physically active. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia, my life underwent a dramatic change. Discovering Nia was the beginning of an incredible journey of self-awareness and healing, enabling me to rebuild and redefine myself. I began teaching Nia in 1998, and have never looked back.

As a Black/Green Belt Nia Instructor, I have been active as an ambassador for Lululemon Athletica; featured in television and print media, trade shows, and public demonstrations, and was involved in bringing Nia to Toronto's first "Yoga Show and Conference", the largest of its kind in North America. I am an avid advocate of Nia's philosophy, "Through Movement We Find Health".

I have remained a student of many movement forms and healing arts, obtaining certifications in Essentrics ®, Yoga, Reiki and TurboKick ®.

In 2004 I created and began teaching a movement course for The Faculty of Physical Education and Health, at The University of Toronto.

I continue to offer regularly scheduled classes in addition to special events and unique applications for individuals and groups of any size, geared toward the creation and maintenance of healthy bodies and lives.
